The Project

Work develops in a non-linear fashion, some threads are pulled and come loose, others unravel something significant. Laboured experiments can produce nothing to speak of, and accidents can end in epiphany. But as more and more work develops, patterns emerge, themes reccur, and strategies become reinforced and fruitful.

Many single pieces develop independantly, and over time connections between them and others are made, suggesting new areas of inquiry. Others may begin as small off-shoots from the main branch, but take on a life of their own once indulged. Pieces that began indepentenly, sometimes years apart, can grow together, as techniques and knowledge change.

The long-term goal here is to identify key connections between individual nodes, and map them in a way which makes them more accessible, and potent. To produce a strand of memetic DNA, which is at once only ever a duplication of what came before it, but at the same time, hopefully a mutation or useful error.

The idea is to give context, and show the way each piece may connect to others, but also perhaps stages of development, inspiration, research, future aspirations etc.
