Three Note External Body Resonance Investigation (2019)

Performance and recording, talk box, microphone, mixer, two channel recording + live voice, 9'34"

This piece was produced by creating a feedback loop between a microphone and a speaker, with the complicaion of the speaker passing through my body before reaching the microphone.

To do this, I used a talk box, which is a speaker housed inside a closed box with a hose attached. The hose is then inserted into my mouth, allowing me to filter the sound of the speaker by opening and closing my mouth.

There are three layers, as the piece was performed in three different locations, allowing the resonant tones of each room to influence the sound of the feedback; together duplicating the three formants of the voice.
